Love a cuppa and a slice of cake? Turn your next tea break into something special by hosting your own NHS Big Tea in support of WISHH, the charity supporting Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.

The NHS Big Tea is a fundraising initiative that encourages people to come together to celebrate the NHS, say thank you to the people who care for us, and raise money for NHS charities. Traditionally linked to the NHS’s birthday in July, it’s a wonderful excuse to gather friends, family, colleagues or your local community for a cuppa and a good cause.

Whether you’re a keen baker, a brilliant host or simply someone who loves bringing people together, you can get involved. And the best bit? You choose what your Big Tea looks like!

What could your Big Tea look like?

There are so many ways to get involved, whether you want to organise something big or keep things simple.

• A tea party at home: Invite friends and family round for tea, cake and a catch-up in return for a donation.
• A workplace brew break: Bring colleagues together for a coffee morning, cake sale or office bake-off.
• A school or community event: Host a tea party for parents, pupils, neighbours or your local group.
• A bake-off challenge: Ask people to bring their best bakes and invite guests to donate to sample them.
• A tea party with a twist: Add a quiz, raffle, guess-the-number-of-teabags competition or other fun activities to boost your fundraising.

You don’t need to do anything elaborate. A few cakes, a pot of tea and some generous guests can be all it takes to get started!
