WISHH May Update!
Welcome to our May update! We are excited to share our latest
good news stories, as well as the ways you, your family, friends and colleagues
can become involved to help us make a difference to patients cared for across
Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital!
Due to the generosity of our fundraisers supporting our ‘Space to Grow Appeal’, families are now benefitting from a new sensory room, an enhanced family room and a sibling’s play area. A new specialist training facility within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit has also been created. A HUGE thank you so much to everyone involved for helping us make a difference to over 500 premature babies and their families every year. You’re incredible!
As the sun is shining and we’re all feeling more motivated, why not become part of #TeamWISHH and get involved in one of our latest events? We have subsidised places available for the following events, click on the links below to find out more and sign up!

- 14th September – Yorkshire Three Peaks
- 20th October Yorkshire Marathon
- 16th & 17th November – Run Alton Towers, options for the whole family with a Kids Race, 5k, 10k and Half Marathon to choose from, there’s something for all the family, and access to the park once you’ve finished!

Hot off the press! WISHH has secured places for the London Landmarks half Marathon 6th April 2025 to find out more and secure your place visit LLHM
Thank you to everyone who has supported WISHH, through your generosity we have been able to provide new additional wheelchairs across Hull Hospitals. Over Easter we brought smiles to faces of children spending time in hospital providing a wonderful host of arts, crafts, gifts and distraction items, we couldn’t have done it without your help!
Fundraiser Katie took part in the London Marathon to support the Acorn Ward raising over £2,200 inspired by the care her daughter Ophelia received. Tom and Jen have raised £6,866 for the Queen’s Centre Day Unit through their Gala Fundraiser – tickets are now available for their event later in the year. Hospital departments including the Speech and Language team held a World Voice Day event to support patients, followed by getting covered in mud at the Get Caked event! The Radiology team took part in a Three Peaks Challenge and the Dialysis team created a Family Tree fundraiser to support our work. A big WISHH thank you to all of our supporters.
